For strength and flexibility

Innovative coordination training equipment

The gym on Belchenstrasse now offers the Sensopro Luna coordination machine for training.

Anyone wishing to improve their physical fitness should train their strength, endurance and flexibility as they get older. This is because, as we age, organ function declines, energy metabolism slows down and muscle strength diminishes. As muscle mass decreases, so too does the foundation for physical fitness and stability, whilst the risk of falls increases. However, targeted muscle training can help counteract this, improving motor skills and reaction times well into old age. The fitness centre at the Akzent Forum on Belchenstrasse in Basel offers a wide range of tried-and-tested equipment to strengthen your muscles. Following a thorough introduction by a physiotherapist, this equipment can be used individually and independently. The Sensopro Luna is now also part of the range of equipment.

At first glance, the coordination machine looks like a cage. But that’s far from the truth. Developed in Münsingen, Switzerland, the machine does not confine users; on the contrary, it promotes coordination in combination with strength, endurance and flexibility. The springy standing surfaces activate the muscles whilst simultaneously training balance. You can try out the Sensopro Luna in our fitness room to see if it really is as much fun as the manufacturers promise.
