Initiating and implementing good initiatives

Pro Senectute of both Basel cantons continuously initiates, develops and implements its own projects for older people. In doing so, it fills gaps in services for older people with its own innovative initiatives. To realise and expand these projects, we rely on donations as well as partnerships with charitable foundations and companies. 

Donations to Pro Senectute of both Basel cantons are eligible for tax relief.

How can I support Pro Senectute in both Basel cantons?

You can support us by making a donation or leaving a bequest. 

What are my donations used for?

Your donation will be used where help is most urgently needed. With your donation, we support older people affected by poverty and carry out projects that are only possible thanks to donations.  

Can I make a donation for a specific purpose?

Yes, you can earmark your donation for a specific project or cause. 

Will I receive a donation receipt?

Yes, we’d be happy to issue you with a donation receipt for your tax return. Once you’ve registered on our portal, you’ll be able to print out the donation receipts yourself. 

How can I be sure that my donation will actually be put to good use?

Pro Senecute of both Basel cantons operates with the minimum possible administrative overhead and reports on its activities each year in a detailed annual report. We are also subject to audits by various bodies, including the Foundation Supervisory Authority of both Basel cantons. 

Can I include Pro Senectute in my will?

Yes, you can provide long-term support for our work by leaving a bequest or an inheritance. If you have any questions regarding your will, our Managing Director, Michael Harr, will be happy to assist you on 061 206 44 44.

Can I claim my donation as a tax deduction?

Yes, Pro Senectute in both Basel cantons is recognised as a charity, and you can claim your donation as a tax deduction.

Do you pass on addresses?

Protecting your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We do not pass on any data to other organisations or individuals in any form whatsoever.
