The legal advice service offers accessible support on legal matters relating to inheritance law, family law, the law on the protection of adults, and housing law.

How much does legal advice cost?

The initial consultation is free of charge for older people from Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft.

We can advise you on matters including inheritance law, family law, social security law, housing and the protection of adults

Can I pop in without an appointment?

No. Legal advice is provided by appointment, which must be made by telephone.

Do you draw up contracts or other documents?

We offer an initial legal consultation and can help you find your way around. We do not draw up documents such as contracts or letters.

Are you reviewing my will or a contract?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about existing documents and explain their legal implications. However, we do not offer a service to revise or draft documents.

Will you represent me in court or in dealings with the authorities?

No. Our legal advice is intended to provide initial guidance. Should further legal representation be required, we will advise you on the next steps or direct you to the appropriate organisations.

What documents should I bring with me to the consultation?

Please bring along any documents that are relevant to your enquiry, such as contracts, letters, orders or correspondence. This will enable us to assess your situation more effectively.

We’ll answer any questions you may have about pensions and show you which options might be suitable for your personal circumstances.
